My youngest daughter just turned 13. She is my partner in haggling at the flea market every weekend. It is a great time we share together. I hunt down china plates and anything that looks interesting to mosaic or paint and she has a love of vintage jewelry. She has collected so many pieces and keeps them in a vintage train case we found, of course, at the flea. They were getting so tangled in there so for her Bday, I decided to paint a canvas that coordinates with her room and added cup hooks along the wood frame to display her finds. I also gave her train case a face lift...gifts of love are the best kind. Don't you think? She was so happy with it and now has a place to show off her finds that is both functional and pretty!

Mother/Daughter DIY Accent Table
My daughter and I found this table at the flea market for $5 and decided to jazz it up some for her bedroom. The inspiration her comforter and hibiscus flowers I painted on her wall.
We gave it a fresh coat of white spray paint. My daughter did the stenciling using left over paint from her walls and a stencil we bought on eBay. I trimmed it out in aqua blue craft paint and gave it a coat of polycrylic. Lastly, we glued on the glass beads we had picked up at Michael's a while back using mosaic glue applied with a tooth pick. Now she has a new to her side table for about $15. Here it is...

Vintage china mosaic table
This is what I love to do...vintage mosaic tiling! I found this OOAK heart shaped tilt table on Ebay, love Ebay, Craigslist, garage sales and esp the flea. I would love to see what you have changed up or repurposed. Wish I took before and afters but will in the future...just love seeing others before and after pics. I am so psyched, in the process of getting my web site up. So happy to have found Susan @ onespringstreet.net. She has been so helpful with her quick responses to my many questions and her designs are beautiful!
