Harlequin Table/Perfect Lap Top Desk

No before pics simply because I found this BBD (before blogging days). Nice excuse, but it is the truth. Anyway, a long time ago I sprayed this garage sale find Krylon's Cornflower Blue. It sat because I jump around the creative/crafting map more times than I get stuck driving my kids to school because they can't get it together in the morning.

Here it is minus the top. I distressed this like a crazy woman!

I drew out the design on the top. BIG PAIN! You have to look really close. Pull out those readers if necessary.
Taped it off, more pain, so a glass of wine was in order. My advice...map it out before hitting the bottle.
Mixed charcoal craft paint with glaze because I wanted a more sheer, subtle look plus the glaze acts like glue and won't run under the tape like straight paint would.
Looking good!!!! More wine please!
And the "cheap mom" always reuses her tape.
And here it is all finished...

This would make a great lap top desk. I'm going to paint a chair to match, stay tuned!

Wow, look at that tape pattern. I'm going cross-eyed. Looks great ,as always, Sue! Good tip on applying the glaze so the paint wouldn't bleed under the tape. Awesome! Hope the wine was good, too :)

I love it. I would love to see a tutorial on how you taped it this way and it worked still lol. I did my whole bedroom wall with this pattern and I was up there with a razor blade cutting away tape on the diamonds. Must be something I am missing.

Well I love your table it is beautiful. I have a soft spot for the harlequin patter for sure!
