I found this old table at the flea market and loved all the great detail on it. My plan was to strip the top, stain it and of course paint it blue but the plan changed when I found a hairline crack running through the center. I used would filler to seal it up but thought it would still be obvious through the stain. So I went to plan B: paint it Mackenzie Childs style.

Dowel constructed and it was a little wobbly so I used some wood glue and clamps to sturdy it up. All in the comfort of my family room . Honestly, I can't even complain about the kids messing the house up. I am by far the biggest mess maker! |

Hey Sue, just letting you know for some reason your link on my party, my link and Chrissie link to our projects is broke. So if you want to post this awesome project again please have at it and I will delete the one with the broken link. Don't know why it is just us three lol. Story of my life. thx Deb.
Wow I can't believe how much detailed painting you did! But it really does look wonderful. By the way where did you get the oriental rug in the picture? I love it! Was it a yard sale/flea market find?
OK -- that is AMAZING. It's fantastic. I have seen other knock-offs of MC style, but never one as well executed as this. Gorgeous!
I am green with envy.

You have some skills, girl! That looks like alot of work! Turned out fab!
Well, I am glad that you found me so I could find you. I think this table came out fabulous. I agree, I wish I could get those prices for my stuff too. We would all be rich. But I take great pride in knowing that I did it myself for pennies on their dollar and just the pride of knowing that I did it. I am a new fan.
That turned out totally darling!!
Great job.

Absolutely fabulous! Perfect job! That's a treasure!
I adore Mackenzie Childs but I can't even afford one of her teapots! This may be a good solution for me! Thanks for the fabulous inspiration!
I followed your link from Metamorphasis Monday, stop by and visit me at cookscleansplayswithpaper.blogspot.com !
I love this and can appreciate the labor involved in all that taping. I do a lot of painted furniture pieces so I feel your pain but the end result is gorgeous. A great piece. I would be flattered it you would share it on Motivated Monday at BeColorful.
Thanks,
Pam

I would easily pay big $$ for that table and it would be worth every penny.

This table is awesome!! Great job.
Why go to so much trouble with the painter's tape??? Just draw your grid and paint in the lines.
This is such a fun transformation. Very MC.
What an outstanding job. I love MC, as so many do. I have a faux book that is full of her style and hopefully one day will be able to reproduce with my plans for a cottage to do all of my eclectic crafting in. Would love to share on my blog about your redo.
Absolutely gorgeous! An inspiration!
