Ginormous Dresser Goes Beachy!

This was a Craigslist find. The price was right, solid mahogany and in great shape w/ the exception of a few expected dings and sticking drawers.
There was an issue with one drawer. It just wasn't sitting right. Lucky me though, the previous owner had intended to fix it because inside the drawer was a long strip of wood which was exactly what was needed to fix it. So, yay me. I pulled out this saw, the only one I own and trimmed it to fit. Then I used wood glue to hold it in place.
Hard to see the difference but the one in the back is missing this strip of wood.
The saw and happy find strip of wood! I mention this for the sake of keeping it real and to understand why cursing is sometimes inevitable :)
I primed it w/ oil based primer painted it a creamy white and taped it off, getting ready for some beachy stripes.
I don't have a pic but I taped and painted the stripes on the drawer fronts while they were in place. When I went to remove them they were stuck :( and without the pulls on, it was impossible to remove them...ugh !If you ever run into this little problem try using an allen wrench. I simply put the bent end in the hole and pulled. Worked like a charm, ok there was a bit of cursing going on...who am I kidding?
Looking like an ugly, striped shirt. And here is where I start to second guess myself. So I sanded off the rim stripes while cursing a bit more.

I distressed and glazed it w/ a mix of dark gray and BM glaze. 1 part paint to 3 parts glaze. And here it is just waiting to move in to my beach house, if I had a beach house that is. So I am going to Craigslist it and hopefully it will find a home in someone's beach house or maybe a little boys room.
The pulls are really beautiful but seem to get lost in the pic. I sprayed them ORB.
I want a beach house :) Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!!! Hope you all enjoy the time with your family and friends!

Looks like you and I were both working on "striping" last week. I just did a bathroom. I love the color scheme you chose. You are right, I totally see this in a beach house.

Have a great holiday weekend!
