It's 5:00 O'clock Somewhere!

This table started off a little wobbly. So I carefully pried the legs off, glued and clamped them.
Sturdy and good as new. I painted it in a light coastal turquoise and just wasn't feelin' it. So it sat in the reject pile in my basement.

I saw this very cool sign with a clock face on Pinterest and remembered I had the reject laying around. Happily found The Whimsical Wife who had a great tip on how to enlarge an image without Staples or a printer that has this feature. She also used The Graphics Fairy clock face.

Sanded down the turquoise paint to the bare wood and used graphite paper to trace the image. I used a #4 flat and #1 liner brush to paint on the numbers and clock hands. I traced the hand w/ my liner and then filled it in.

Water down your paint to an ink like consistency and don't freak if it's not perfect. After all, it's hand painting, not a stencil. Good brushes make all the difference.

After I painted the numbers and hands, I stained the top w/ Minwax English Chestnut and painted the table legs black.

Notice the hands are just about pushing 5:00. This was no accident :)

I really got into painting this. It's been a while since I did any kind of detailed painting and I really love how it turned out.
